I have just read this super book and recommend it highly.
It is- In Defence of Dogs by John Bradshaw.(2011 Allen Lane)at discount from Amazon.
John Bradshaw leads a research team of biologists at Bristol University, is 'one of the world's leading dog experts' and 'has studied the behaviour of domestic dogs and their owners for over twenty five years'. This book gives the latest scientific understanding of dogs; their orgins, behaviour, thinking, emotions, and training and lots more. Derek
